*Note: CFM (Cubic Feet Per Minute), is a measure of the quantity of air moved by the vacuum motor at a particular system load, such as 2-1/2" orifice. Static pressure represents how far up a glass tube a vacuum motor will lift a column of water. This function is measured in inches.

The highest rated shop vac available today has 145 CFM and 53" of Static Pressure through a 2.5" hose. When compared to a 10" hose it translates to 36.25 CFM and 21" Static Pressure.
